St. Mary Magdalene is a happy and successful parish school situated in the beautiful coastal town of Bexhill-on-Sea. At the heart of our school is our Mission Statement: “Let Your Light Shine.” As disciples of Jesus, inspired by St Mary Magdalene, we are called to let our light shine through faith, compassion, respect and courage.
As a Christian community within the Catholic tradition, we value every person and recognise the unique, God-given gifts of each child. We provide a nurturing and caring environment, rooted in Gospel values, in which children feel safe, valued and able to flourish.
Our dedicated staff provide a rich variety of learning opportunities, including visits, visitors, events and activities, which inspire children to learn, explore their interests and discover their individual talents. Within our calm yet stimulating learning environment, children develop positive attitudes, behave well and achieve high standards.
We encourage children to take responsibility for their learning and to view feedback and setbacks as opportunities to grow. Through support and encouragement, they develop confidence, self-discipline, perseverance and the courage to take risks and step beyond their comfort zones. We celebrate effort, hard work, curiosity and understanding as part of our belief that we are all lifelong learners.
Our mission reaches beyond the classroom. We work together to serve others, care for God’s creation and help every member of our community to let their light shine.
