Science Council

Our Science Council members focus on pupil engagement, leadership, and promoting a positive science culture in our school.

Their work involves:

Pupil Voice & Feedback

  • Sharing what children enjoy in science and what could be improved.

  • Feeding back to teachers about science lessons, clubs, and investigations.

  • Contributing to surveys or monitoring linked to the Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM) evidence.

Promoting Science

  • Leading science assemblies, challenges, or competitions.

  • Acting as “Science Ambassadors” during Science Week or STEM days.

  • Encouraging peers to see the relevance and excitement of science.

Leadership & Responsibility

  • Helping set up and organise science resources or investigations.

  • Modelling good attitudes to scientific enquiry (curiosity, resilience, teamwork).

  • Working with the Science Subject Leader to trial new ideas.

Community & Wider Links

  • Showcasing science learning to parents, governors, or visitors.

  • Helping build links with local organisations (e.g., STEM ambassadors, secondary schools).

  • Representing pupil voice in whole-school development (linked to PSQM action plans).
