School Prayers
Speaking to Jesus
These prayers are taught to the children as soon as they start in Reception and are said every day as part of our collective worship and daily routines. Through prayer, we encourage our children to develop a close and personal relationship with Jesus, learning to speak to Him with trust, gratitude and love.Praying together helps our children to reflect, give thanks, ask for guidance and grow in faith. As they move through the school, they become more confident in joining in with familiar prayers and, in time, begin to share their own prayers from the heart.
Our school prayers are simple, meaningful and rooted in our Catholic tradition. They form an important part of our day, helping to create a calm, respectful atmosphere and reminding us that Jesus is always with us in all that we do.
Morning Prayer
Oh my God you love me
You’re with me night and day
I want to love you always
In all I do or say
I’ll try to please you Father
Bless me through the day
Amen
Lunchtime Prayer
Bless us O Father
As we sit together
Bless the food we eat today
Bless the hands that made the food
Bless us O Father
Amen
End of Day Prayer
God our Father
We’ve come to say
Thank you for your love today
Thank you for my family
And all the friends you give to me
Guard me in the dark of night
And in the morning send your light
Amen
