Mission Statement, Vision & School Values
Our Mission Statement was written by our Spiritual Council, a group of pupils from Year 1 – Year 6 who worked together to create a representation of how they want the school to grow. The Spiritual Council have also incorporated the views of the rest of the school community, children, parents and staff.
Mission Statement
Let your Light Shine
God made each one of us – we are all His unique disciples and His love is the love we share.
We share our God given gifts and talents.
We RESPECT each other’s differences and welcome DIVERSITY, celebrating and sharing our God given gifts and talents.
We show COMPASSION and friendship for others in school, at home, in our local community and for our global family.
We have the COURAGE and hope to face any challenges and follow our dreams.
We are given the FREEDOM to make the most of every learning experience we have and be the very best we can be.
We welcome the RESPONSIBILITY of being stewards of God’s wonderful gift of creation and caring for our common home.
We place Jesus at the centre of all we do, growing in our Faith through our heads, hearts and hands.
Vision
Our school vision is: Let Your Light Shine (Matthew 5:16)
‘Let your light shine’ incorporates three fundamental elements:
~ The light of the Gospel message of Jesus
~ The light of individual talents
~ The light of learning
School Values
Gospel Values influence every aspect of school life so that together we can enable every child’s spiritual, moral, academic and social development to flourish.
Our school values underpin our curriculum and allow our pupils to build a deep and meaningful understanding of the Gospel Values and also the values that Britain supports. They are:
Compassion, Diversity, Respect, Courage, Responsibility and Freedom
Each term, we focus on one value and make links between this and all aspects of the children's spiritual and educational development. As a school community, we focus on each value as follows:
Term 1: Courage
Term 2: Respect
Term 3: Responsibility
Term 4: Compassion
Term 5: Diversity
Term 6: Freedom
